Provisional analysis of the first 12,330 reported death cases in the 5th wave:
- Vaccination history
 - Received 4 doses (reached 14 days): 2%
 - Received 3 doses (reached 14 days): 12%
 - Received 2 doses (reached 14 days): 13%
 - Received 1 dose (reached 14 days): 13%
 - Unvaccinated: 60%
- Over 95% fatal cases were elderly aged 60 years or above; 48% were residential care home residents; 93% were with known chronic diseases
- Receiving 3 doses of any vaccines greatly reduces death risk especially in the older age group

COVID-19 Vaccination Programme statistics

- As at Jan 13:
* 167 persons received their first dose of vaccine; a cumulative total of 6,911,348 persons have received their first vaccine dose, making up 94.6% of the population aged 3 or above
* 280 persons received their second dose of vaccine; a cumulative total of 6,790,985 persons have received their second vaccine dose, making up 93.1% of the population aged 3 or above
* 1,627 persons received their third dose of vaccine; a cumulative total of 5,820,336 persons have received their third vaccine dose, making up 83.5% of the population aged 12 or above
* 11,622 persons received their fourth dose of vaccine; a cumulative total of 972,862 persons have received their fourth vaccine dose
* 1,418 persons received their fifth dose of vaccine; a cumulative total of 42,192 persons have received their fifth vaccine dose
- a total of 20,537,723 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered for members of the public

Government adjusts evaluation criteria for COVID-19 nucleic acid test results

The Government announced on January 13 that the evaluation criteria for COVID-19 nucleic acid test results will be adjusted with effect from January 16. Test results issued from that day with a Ct value of 35 or above would be regarded as negative for purposes other than clinical management.

Supply of medicine containing paracetamol and COVID-19 oral drugs

A Government spokesman said on January 13 that the supply of medicine containing paracetamol in Hong Kong remains stable. The public need not stockpile the relevant medicine. In addition, it is an offence to sell or resell COVID-19 oral drugs, including supply without payment.
