CHP investigates locally acquired SARS-CoV-2 virus cases with 638 cases tested positive by nucleic acid tests and 2,038 cases by RATs as well as 61 imported cases

Provisional analysis of the first 12,747 reported death cases in the 5th wave:
- Vaccination history
 - Received 4 doses (reached 14 days): 2%
 - Received 3 doses (reached 14 days): 14%
 - Received 2 doses (reached 14 days): 13%
 - Received 1 dose (reached 14 days): 12%
 - Unvaccinated: 59%
- Over 95% fatal cases were elderly aged 60 years or above; 47% were residential care home residents; 93% were with known chronic diseases
- Receiving 3 doses of any vaccines greatly reduces death risk especially in the older age group

COVID-19 Vaccination Programme statistics

- As at Jan 22:
* a cumulative total of 6,912,150 persons have received their first vaccine dose, making up 94.6% of the population aged 3 or above
* 1 person received his/her second dose of vaccine; a cumulative total of 6,792,370 persons have received their second vaccine dose, making up 93.1% of the population aged 3 or above
* 3 persons received their third dose of vaccine; a cumulative total of 5,827,542 persons have received their third vaccine dose, making up 83.6% of the population aged 12 or above
* 17 persons received their fourth dose of vaccine; a cumulative total of 1,019,939 persons have received their fourth vaccine dose
* 2 persons received their fifth dose of vaccine; a cumulative total of 48,523 persons have received their fifth vaccine dose
- a total of 20,600,524 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered for members of the public

CS celebrates Lunar New Year with community

The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Chan Kwok-ki, said he was pleased to learn that various government departments spared no effort, with close co-ordination with one another, in ensuring the smooth operation of the various control points for the resumption of normal travel between Hong Kong and the Mainland in a progressive, orderly and comprehensive manner.
